Theta Alpha Omega Chapter  mourns the loss of our beloved Tomasita Spann who passed this life on July 21, 2014 at home in the loving care of her family.   She was initiated in 1975 in the Alpha Gamma of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®   On October 24, 1976 she became a charter member of Lambda Alpha Chapter at California State University, Long Beach.  In 1977, Tomasita received a bachelor’s degree in Communications from California State University, Long Beach.  After graduation, she became a hard working member of Theta Alpha Omega.  At the time of her death, she was also an active member of the Pearl Foundation Board of Directors.  Following graduation, she worked as a speech pathologist and teacher for Compton Unified School District.  In 1979, she began her 31-year career with Pacific Bell and retired in 2010 as a Project Manager from AT&T.   In 1981, Tomasita married Leonard Mundy.  To their union was one child, Richard Mundy.  She adored her granddaughter, Rihanna Mundy and her Goddaughter, Anisa Berry.  She loved God, family and her Alpha Kappa Alpha sisters!
